How to choose jewelry for your outfit

Pay attention to size

Pay attention to size

The size of your chosen jewelry should match your clothing to create a coherent overall image. Very small jewelry may not highlight your clothes, but very large jewelry may look awkward and inappropriate.

Small and simple jewelry is more suitable for patterns and outfits that can exist on their own and are complete. In this case, earrings and small pearl necklaces will fit perfectly. Large jewelry is best suited for simple outfits.

If you wear simple blouses, shirts and, for example, jeans, you can choose a larger size jewelry, brooch or necklace. However, you also need to consider what image you want to create. If you want to create a conservative or formal look, you can also combine small and simple jewelry with simple and monochrome outfits.

More is not always the best

Sometimes it seems that when we are dressed in a formal dress and going to an event, we should show and use our jewelry to match the event. On the contrary, it is often the other way around. Very often simple, small jewelry works best with long, luxurious outfits or other formal outfits.

Try small, shiny, fine jewelry, such as small earrings with crystals, to add a delicate look to your outfit without diverting attention from your clothes.

Colour

Colour is just as important when choosing jewelry, unless you want to look like a rainbow or vice versa - use jewelry that will be the same colour as the clothes and will be hard to spot.

Gold, silver jewelry matches all outfits, as well as the colour of neutral colour (black, white, gray) goes well with clothes of different colours. If you want to choose different colours, use a consistent range of the same colour. Choose the same jewelry as your outfit, such as blue and yellow-blue. You can also choose colours that are the opposite of the clothing's colour scheme, such as green and burgundy.

While coloured jewelry looks great, keep in mind that jewelry with more than two colours may look unmatched and not match your outfit.

Choose only one focus jewelry

If you have a large, bold collection of jewelry, never combine them all together. For example, it is not recommended to wear a bold necklace with long earrings or hoop earrings with a large and heavy necklace. In fact, if you wear long earrings or a chunky necklace, it is often better to skip other jewelry to avoid an overly compelling and unsightly look.
